The Change After COVID-19 NEW NORMAL

We would like to recommend making your reservation through the form above.

If you have traveled, or plan to travel, to an area where there are high amounts of COVID-19 cases, it is recommended that you stay at home for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania. If you travel to the following states, it is recommended that you quarantine for 14 days upon return

 We have used much of the time during this shutdown to implement practices to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients.  
When entering for your first back, you will see some changes.  

-In order to ensure 100% of our staff and you feel safe and comfortable entering our dining, we will not be seating at the BAR Counter and SUSHI BAR counter for now.  Tables only. Maximum party of 8.

-All of our servers , Chefs and staff will be wearing masks and gloves.


- We ask that all of you wear a mask to enter the Restaurant.


-We will be taking every customer  Temperature as they enter, and anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to reschedule their reservation.  


-We changed our menus also you can place the order when you make a reservation via Email or phone. 


-When you talk to our staff to place the order please put your mask back on.


-Our waiting areas have been revamped to ensure 6ft social distancing.  In the event the waiting area is full, you may be asked to wait outside the Restaurant  and the staff will text or call you when your table is ready.


-We will be seating customers  by reservations only.  No walk-ins, please call or email first. 


-Dividers are in place between the tables or social distancing 6ft.


-Your servers will be offering a contactless check out process if you are paying by Apple pay.  


-We will not be offering warm towel.


-We ask that You can take off your mask Only at tables.

What you may not see, but we will be doing, is temperature checks on all of our staff as they enter for their work day.  Any staff member with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be asked to leave and return to work when they are symptom free from any illness.  


All of tools and surfaces, including the Table,Chair,Plates,Serving equipment will be sanitized at the start of the work day, between clients, and at the end of the day.  

In addition, we are temporarily altering our business hours in order to accommodate everyone's reservations without overcrowding the space! 50% of seating restrictions. Please call (412-765-3200)or email(contact@kikupittsburgh.net) for reservations.

Dear Kiku’s family,

 

First and foremost, we would like to send our gratitudes to all for your  patronage to our little corner of the world for the last 37 years.

 

As we all know that it is a challenging time now more than ever to continuing our tradition of serving an authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of Pittsburgh.   For us in particular, and the rest of restaurant industry in general.

 

Moving forward, we are taking extra precautions as recommended by WHO, CDC, OSHA as well as Allegheny County Health Department.

 

We suggest kindly to our customers who are experiencing a flu-like symptoms or allergies to please recuperate at home. Likewise, we on our part would send any of our team members home if he or she shows any of the symptoms.

 

Our team members have read and study the Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19 published by U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and applying them promptly to the restaurant.

 

Additionally,

 

  • We have installed hand sanitizer dispensers by the front entrance and restrooms, along with sanitizer disinfectant spray bottles by the server, bar, sushi bar, and kitchen areas.

  • We are practicing 6 ft. rule whereas there are at least 6 feet seating gap between parties.

  • Like our chopsticks, our oshibories are now disposable.

  • We clean tables and chairs with soap and then sanitize them every time after guests have left.

  • We sanitize our menus after each seating.

  • We clean and sanitize our restrooms every half hour from door handles, faucets, toilet control panels, urinals, and every touchable areas.

 

With these measures, we are cautiously confident, the level of exposure to any bacterial or viral droplets on and around the restaurant’s surfaces has been and will be kept at a 

minimum.

 

We also encourage to our customers should they still unsure to dine in as to try our curb side pickup, or order through Doordash to have it conveniently delivered.

 

At the end, the safety of our guests and our crews is absolutely paramount to us.  Together, we are going to go through this and come out on the other side better and stronger.  Looking back since 1983 and through these years, we would like once again to say thank you for your loyalty and looking forward to serving you in years to come.
